The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has launched the Integrated Drug Abuse Monitoring
System (IDAMS) as a comprehensive platform to monitor and evaluate the efforts of
institutions
receiving grants-in-aid under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR). This
initiative aims to strengthen data collection and enhance the effectiveness of programs addressing
drug abuse and rehabilitation.
The IDAMS platform facilitates systematic reporting and analysis by grant-in-aid institutions on the
key performance indicators of their activities. This includes data on the number of individuals
undergoing treatment, the nature of services provided, and the outcomes achieved. By providing
real-time data, the system helps policymakers and stakeholders make informed decisions to improve
strategies for drug demand reduction and rehabilitation services.
Grant-in-aid institutions are required to update the platform regularly, ensuring accountability and
transparency in their operations. You are required to submit a form online for each patient
(Old/New) seeking treatment/rehabilitation/counselling (for alcohol or any other drug) at
your
centre. The responsible/ designated person at each centre will use the online system to submit the
forms.
The system also serves as a repository of information, and information thus gathered is intended to
monitor drug using trends with time; equip the functionaries at MSJE to plan and implement
prevention, education programs for drug users at all levels (State, District, Zone level).
The Ministry's commitment to leveraging technology through IDAMS reflects its resolve to address the
challenges posed by drug abuse and support affected individuals effectively.
Hello, world! This is a toast message.
